Dr. Cho has also successfully litigated patent cases in federal district courts. He has handled all pre-trial phases of litigation—including pre-suit investigations, claim construction, fact and expert discovery, depositions, dispositive motions, and trial preparations—in cases involving a wide range of complex technologies such as semiconductor devices, analog and digital electronics, computer software, database systems, signal processing systems, and wireless communications standards and systems.
Dr. Cho has particular expertise in artificial intelligence and machine learning. Before starting his legal career, Dr. Cho received his doctorate degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology for his work on machine learning algorithms and imaging electronics. For his research, he received a paper award at one of the premier conferences in machine learning, IEEE Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR). Dr. Cho has served as a paper reviewer for the machine learning community, including for IEEE CVPR, IEEE ICCV, ECCV and AAAI. Dr. Cho is the lead author of eleven research articles and a co-inventor of three U.S. patents.
