LMG Life Sciences has selected Desmarais LLP as a finalist for its 2024 Americas Awards in the categories of Intellectual Property Boutique Firm of the Year and General Patent Litigator of the Year (New York) for partner John Desmarais.
Desmarais LLP earned several significant life sciences victories in patent cases during the past year. These include a $57 million trial verdict for Ravgen’s prenatal genetic testing technology against Natera; a series of victories before the Patent Office to preserve $429.5 million in damages won for Ravgen at trial and in post-trial enhancements; a favorable settlement for Auris Health that ended a multi-patent case involving robotic surgical and diagnostic devices; and a successful administrative law judge ruling that found no violation by Croma-Pharma in a section 337 trade secret case before the International Trade Commission.
The 2024 LMG Life Sciences Americas Awards recognize the industry’s leading firms and practitioners across four major practice areas – regulatory, intellectual property, financial and corporate, and non-IP litigation and enforcement. The judges select the nominees based on the impact, complexity, and innovation of their work during the past 12 months. LMG Life Sciences will honor the 2024 winners at an event on September 5 in New York City.
