Desmarais LLP is pleased to announce that Kyle Petrie and Adam Steinmetz have been elevated to partner at the firm, effective January 1, 2025.

Adam re-joined the firm two years ago to help build our growing appellate practice in our Washington, D.C. Office, after spending three years clerking at the Federal Circuit," said John Desmarais, partner at Desmarais LLP. “We are proud of their contributions to the firm’s successes and look forward to how they will contribute in these new roles.”
Desmarais LLP, which will celebrate its 15-year anniversary in 2025, has about 80 attorneys across its New York headquarters and its San Francisco and Washington, D.C. offices.
Kyle Petrie
Kyle Petrie joined Desmarais LLP in 2016 after serving as a summer associate in 2015. His practice focuses on representing clients in patent infringement and antitrust disputes involving a range of technologies across the electronics, life sciences, and biotechnology industries. He earned a bachelor's degree and a master’s degree in chemical engineering from Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario in 2011 and 2013, respectively, and he earned a law degree from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 2016.
Adam Steinmetz
Adam Steinmetz joined Desmarais LLP in 2016 and rejoined the firm in 2022, after serving for three years as a judicial law clerk for Judge Alan D. Lourie at the Federal Circuit. His practice focuses on patent infringement litigation and intellectual property counseling involving a range of technologies and industries involving pharmaceuticals, gene sequencing, medical devices, electronics, telecommunications, energy, and other technologies. He earned a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from the Cooper Union in 2009 and a law degree from Columbia Law School in 2012.
