Notable Successes

Desmarais LLP has been named one of the industry’s top performing firms practicing before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.
 
In 2018, Desmarais LLP ranked as the No. 2 most effective PTAB firm for patent owners (Performance Rate of 83.8%), and the firm ranked as the No. 3 most effective PTAB firm overall (Performance Rate of 77.8%). The firm was also named among the “Top 50 Most Active Law Firms in IPR” in 2018.
 
Two firm attorneys also were included in 2018’s “Top 50 Best Performing Attorneys in IPR.” Kevin McNish ranked as the No. 12 most effective PTAB attorney for patent owners (Performance Rate of 87.1%), and Andrew Heinz ranked as the No. 21 most effective PTAB attorney for patent owners (Performance Rate of 81%). McNish also ranked as the No. 9 most effective PTAB attorney overall (Performance Rate of 78.3%).
 
The rankings were part of Patexia’s IPR Intelligence Report - 2018 Edition, which assessed the industry’s top law firms representing petitioners and patent owners before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.
