The 18th annual awards ceremony highlights the top intellectual property firms and attorneys in the industry during the past 12 months. Managing IP’s researchers assess thousands of firms and attorneys each year, using feedback from clients, public records, and practitioner submissions to arrive at the shortlist. Desmarais LLP’s major victories during the last year include winning a full defense verdict for Cisco against a $371 million patent suit; securing a $1.25 billion settlement, plus royalties, for ViiV Healthcare and Shionogi & Co. to end a major pharmaceutical patent lawsuit; and earning a $272.5 million jury verdict and finding of willful infringement for Ravgen that was subsequently upheld in multiple rulings before the PTAB.
