Notable Successes

Desmarais LLP earned top-tier patent litigation honors in Managing Intellectual Property’s 2023 IP Stars rankings. The firm received a Tier 1 ranking in the “Patent Disputes” U.S. (National) category; a Highly Recommended ranking in the “Patent Disputes” New York category; and a Recommended ranking in the “Patent Disputes” California category.
 
Earlier in 2023, Managing IP selected 11 Desmarais LLP partners to its IP Stars list. And in its annual Americas Awards, Managing IP recognized Desmarais LLP as Intellectual Property Boutique Firm of the Year and John Desmarais, founding partner of Desmarais LLP, as Litigator of the Year (New York).
 
The 2023 IP Stars rankings conclude a six-month research process covering IP practice areas across more than 70 jurisdictions. Researchers analyze publicly available court and IP office records, review submissions from thousands of law firms, and conduct interviews with practitioners and clients across the industry. IP Stars then ranks firms and practitioners based on expertise in their field; size and sophistication of their workload; performance during the previous year; and client and competitor feedback.
