Desmarais LLP is pleased to announce that Brian Matty has been elevated to partner at the firm, effective January 1, 2023.
Brian will join the firm’s group of partners. Desmarais LLP, which was founded in 2010, has approximately 75 attorneys across offices in New York, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C.

Brian joined Desmarais LLP in 2016. His practice focuses on technology disputes involving diagnostic genetic testing, neurostimulation, catheter technologies, robotic endoscopy, wireless communications protocols, and media distribution networks. He has successfully represented clients in inter partes reviews before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, as well as in litigation in the federal courts.
Brian earned his bachelor's and master’s degrees in biomedical engineering from the University of Michigan in 2008 and 2009, respectively, and his law degree from Fordham University School of Law in 2014. He is also a named inventor for a catheter-based medical device patent (No. 8,496,655) that covers a technique used to perform minimally invasive heart surgery.
