John M. Desmarais

LMG Life Sciences has named John Desmarais, founding partner of Desmarais LLP, as a finalist for the 2021 General Patent Litigator of the Year Award (New York). Desmarais is one of eight attorneys shortlisted for the award.
 
The General Patent Litigator of the Year Award highlights the industry’s top attorneys handling biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and medical device patent litigation. Desmarais, who was also shortlisted for the award in 2020, has led major patent infringement cases involving drugs that treat HIV, allergies, depression, prostate health, and Alzheimer’s, as well as patent infringement cases involving technologies that cover robotic surgical and medical procedures and prenatal genetic testing.
 
The annual LMG Life Sciences Americas Awards recognize firms and attorneys in four primary practice areas – regulatory, financial and corporate, intellectual property, and litigation. LMG selects the finalists after an in-depth review of firm submissions, practitioner interviews, client feedback, and independent research.
 
LMG will name the winners for the 2021 Americas Awards on September 22 at the Essex House in New York.
