John M. Desmarais

LMG Life Sciences has named Desmarais LLP as a finalist in three categories for the 2022 Americas Awards – General Patent Litigation Firm of the Year, Intellectual Property Boutique Firm of the Year, and John Desmarais, founding partner, for General Patent Litigator of the Year (New York).
 
Desmarais LLP has led several significant life sciences matters involving patent infringement litigation in the last 12 months. These include securing a $1.25 billion settlement plus royalties for clients ViiV Healthcare and Shionogi & Co. in a global pharmaceutical drug case and earning a very favorable settlement for client Avanos Medical following several pre-trial wins against Medtronic in a medical device case.
 
The annual LMG Life Sciences Americas Awards recognize leading firms and practitioners who handle life sciences matters across regulatory, corporate, intellectual property, and litigation areas. LMG Life Sciences shortlists the honorees after an in-depth research process that includes reviewing firm submissions, conducting attorney interviews, gathering client feedback, and performing independent research. The 2022 winners will be announced as part of an in-person event on September 8 at the Essex House in New York City.
