Sumeet’s practice focuses on intellectual property and technology-related litigation.  He has extensive experience litigating cases requiring fluency with diverse areas of computer science, such as computer vision, embedded systems, or processor design, as well as cases in the life sciences field involving small molecules, biologics, formulations, salts, or polymorphic forms.  In addition to his work before United States District Courts, Sumeet also has experience with inter partes and post-grant review petitions before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, and has represented clients in appeals before the United States Supreme Court, the Second and Federal Circuits, and the Delaware Supreme Court.  

Before joining Desmarais LLP, Sumeet clerked on the Ninth Circuit for Judge Diarmuid O’Scannlain and was an associate at Williams & Connolly LLP.  During law school, Sumeet served as an executive editor for the Harvard Business Law Review and as a research assistant for Professor Louis Kaplow.  Sumeet also represented indigent defendants in criminal matters as part of the Harvard Criminal Justice Institute.
